Workshop: Supporting Mathematics Engagement in Ukraine
event
Ecsite organizes the workshop, which takes place ahead of the Ecsite Conference in Warsaw. It marks the launch of a new project supported by the Simons Foundation and implemented in collaboration with the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (JASU), IMAGINARY, and TRACES.
The workshop supports Ukrainian participants in navigating complex and changing environments by introducing innovative ways to communicate mathematics and engage local audiences. Facilitators from IMAGINARY and TRACES lead hands-on sessions exploring tools for co-design, inclusion, and context-based communication, strengthening Ukraine’s science engagement landscape and fostering international exchange.
IMAGINARY shares its philosophy of math engagement and its recent experience with the activities for the International Day of Mathematics (IDM), and provides a “behind the scenes” look at how it develops activities that can migrate to different formats and contexts.
This program is funded by the Simons Foundation International and administered by the Simons Foundation’s Science, Society & Culture division.
