We are calling students of the Art and Design fields as well as independent Artists and Designers to participate in the Math Creations contest for Art, Design and Mathematics. The goal of the contest is new creative ideas based on mathematical concepts and their realization. It is organized by the special research fields “Discretization in Geometry and Dynamics” and “Raum - Zeit - Materie. Analytische und Geometrische Strukturen” in collaboration with IMAGINARY.

This is the second event of the Math Creations Project. The creative ideas of the participating teams will be presented to the jury, the other participants and the interested public. Based on the competition guidelines, the jury chooses the most promising math art projects to receive one of the grants adding up to a maximum of 3738 EUR total for realization of the creative work, which will be exhibited during our third event in May.

This is a public event. Besides the participants, we invite representatives of the press, artists and designers as well as mathematicians. There will be a film crew recording the event. It will also documenting the developmental process of the realization of each winning math-art idea.
