Exhibit MUSKI Drum Machine in the exhibition Ça Résonne at MMI Lyon

The MUSKI Drum Machine was created by IMAGINARY for the Maison des Mathématiques et de l’Informatique (Lyon) and is shown in the exhibition “Ça Résonne”.
This interactive exhibit is based on a drum machine. The user can input the beginning of a drum pattern, then use either AI or a random algorithm to complete it and play it.
The exhibit is part of the temporary exhibition ”Ça Résonne”, which explores the question: What is sound? While the first answer that comes to mind might be “something we hear,” the exhibition explores the question from a mathematical and computational perspective.
How can we represent sound (which is a vibration)? How do these representations offer us a new perspective on sound? How can sound be recorded and reproduced?
Through numerous hands-on and digital activities in which sounds are always juxtaposed with their representations, the exhibition will answer these questions and many others.
