At the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) 2026, IMAGINARY will participate in a roundtable discussion, present the MaRDI Station game, and be featured at two exhibition stalls: Maths of AI and an image gallery.

The roundtable “Mathematics Education in the Advent of the A. I. Era” will explore how mathematics teaching can evolve in response to artificial intelligence. Rather than focusing solely on what AI can produce, the discussion will highlight the importance of human thinking processes such as reasoning, persistence, and reflection.

The MaRDI Station game, developed by IMAGINARY, offers visitors a playful way to learn about MaRDI’s services and try out two new versions of the multiplayer game which offer a playful introduction to MaRDI’s work.

The “Maths of AI” stall features three engaging stations that reveal the mathematics behind core machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts, particularly neural networks and reinforcement learning.

The image gallery “Through the Eyes of Mathematics” is a curated collection of around 100 visually striking works by mathematicians, artists, and students from around the world. It presents a diverse and contemporary view of mathematics, offering an aesthetically engaging backdrop for the ICM exhibition. Each image is accompanied by brief background information on the mathematical ideas behind it, along with author attribution. For the ICM, the selection will be carefully curated from a pool of over 8,000 images.
