For the first time in Latin America, as well as in the Southern Hemisphere, the International Congress of Mathematicians - ICM2018 will happen from August 1st to 9th 2018, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and will bring the IMAGINARY exhibition to add insights and multiply visions about mathematics.

Entitled ‘GEOMETRY AND IMAGINATION’, this edition has as its purpose to offer a space for aesthetic experimentation of mathematical patterns in nature and culture.

It is an independent version of the IMAGINARY exhibition, bringing together fascinating contents found in the IMAGINARY platform and in other sources.

ICM2018 is part of the “Mathematics Biennium 2017/2018 - Gomes de Sousa”, a movement for education that aims to create, produce and bring to Brazil multiple experiences that generate new discoveries and stimulate the learning of Mathematics in general.
