Originally scheduled to open at Taksim Art Gallery on March 14, 2020, in celebration of the inaugural International Day of Mathematics (IDM), the exhibition had to close prematurely due to the sudden onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. On March 14, 2024 (IDM 2024), it was proudly reopened at the prestigious İBB Atatürk Library Exhibition Hall in Taksim, Istanbul. From its opening day, the exhibition received immense interest and welcomed daily visits from school classes, university students, and mathematics enthusiasts of all ages.

We express our deep gratitude to all partner institutions that contributed to bringing IMAGINARY to Türkiye and facilitating its nationwide journey over the years, foremost the Istanbul Center for Mathematical Sciences (IMBM) and Nesin Mathematics Village (Nesin Matematik Köyü). We are especially grateful to Ferit Öztürk for creating the iconic algebraic “Turkish tea glass” surface, which has become the signature visual hallmark of IMAGINARY in Türkiye. Heartfelt thanks also go to our society members Can Ozan Oğuz, Ferit Öztürk, and Betül Tanbay (former President of the TMD and Chair of the IDM Governing Board (2025-2028)) for their invaluable contributions to making this exhibition a reality, as well as to our dedicated team of student guides who worked tirelessly to guide visitors through interactive exhibits and hands-on modules.
