Lancement d'IMAGINARY France

Ce samedi 21 mars 2015 à 13:30 à la Bibliothèque de l’Alcazar à Marseille a lieu le lancement public d’IMAGINARY France. Cet événement s’insère dans le Forum des Mathématiques Vivantes et est accompagné d’une exposition grand public «Mathématiques Vivantes et Visuelles» sous l’ombrière du Vieux Port de Marseille.

Le contenu de l’exposition marseillaise, proposée par le Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques (CIRM) et la chaire Jean-Morlet, présente une large sélection d’images de Herwig Hauser, actuellement titulaire de cette chaire à Marseille et collaborateur de longue date d’IMAGINARY. L’exposition présente aussi une sélection de contributions françaises et francophones.

Le lancement ce samedi présentera la version française de la plateforme, imaginary.org/fr, ainsi que le logiciel emblématique SURFER en français. Les prochains buts du projet IMAGINARY France, soutenu par Cap’Maths et membre du réseau AudiMath, incluent la production d’une exposition itinérante en France pour 2016 et l’accroissement des contributions de la communauté des mathématiques française et francophone à la plateforme.

There is still more than one week left to participate in the ongoing SURFER picture competition, so start being creative and upload your images! The competition, that started already on May 18, 2012 will run until April 28, 2013. Then a judging panel will decide about the winners of the competition.

The Bridges conference 2013 about the connections between art and mathematics takes place from July, 27th until July, 31th, 2013, in Enschede, Netherlands. The most recent works at the interface of mathematics, music, art, architecture and culture will be presented.
