IMAGINARY SURFER exhibition in Slovenia

The opening of the second IMAGINARY SURFER exhibition in Slovenia takes place on October 7th at 1 pm in the lobby of the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University in Ljubljana.
The exhibition “IMAGINARY - through the eyes of mathematics” shows amazing mathematical surfaces through visualization and in formula. The images were prepared by using the software tool SURFER. 14 large format prints of algebraic surfaces (125×185 cm) are presented. Simple as well as more complex surfaces are displayed accompanied by detailed views to the side of every surface, as well as additional images created by modifying parameters or choosing a different point of view.
The exhibition is aimed at lovers of science and art, as well as experts (mathematicians, architects, computer scientist, artist, …). Entrance is free!
The design of the exhibition was prepared by Mathema, the Institute for popularization of mathematics in Ljubljana. The opening talks were given by Prof. Dr. Nikolaj Zimic, dean of the faculty, and Mateja Budin, head of Mathema.
