How to participate

We are exploring different algebraic soundscapes. We are planning to set up a github for agile collaboration. Meanwhile, please write us for comments, ideas or trying it by yourself to surferinvaders at gmail.com

A bundle of opensource software for “playing music” on algebraic surfaces (AS).
It is a generative music method based on trajectories traced over AS.
The goal of the project is the interactive exploration of different musical and aural posibilities of the AS.

The general method consists of 3 stages:

1- an algorithm for tracing path on algebraic surfaces (implemented in R Language)
2- a Iannix score based on the path selected on 1 (score)
3- a Pedalboard2 , Puredata or Processing patch, which is the musical instrument that reads and executes the score.

Software used in the project: Trajectory tracing algorithm stage:

R is a language and environment for statistical computing and graphics.

Score stage:

IanniX is a graphical open-source sequencer, based on Iannis Xenakis works, for digital art.
IanniX syncs via Open Sound Control (OSC) events and curves to your real-time environment.

Instrument stage:

Pedalboard2 is a VST (a type of audio synthesizer and effects software) plugin host designed for live use.

Pure Data is a real-time graphical programming environment for audio, video, and graphical processing.

Processing is an open source programming language and environment for people who want to create images, animations, and interactions.

The soundscape is the result of the interaction between the score and the instrument.
